RESURRECTION - RELEASE FROM HELL is shipped fully stretched and ready to hang. I used the best canvas I could find and stretched it on heavy duty stretcher bars for the best finish possible. The texture of the canvas is allowed to show through in some areas, where in other areas have thick lumpy application of paint - the best part of an original painting!

It is significant that in Orthodox iconography the redemption of man is represented by the descent into Hell, being described Jesus as he enters the world of darkness and stretches his hand to Adam and Eve, whom he has come to remove from the burden of the plague. Olivier Clement says that Christ, biting enemies, stretches the hand of the first Adam and makes life and light penetrate where there is "darkness, death, loneliness"
The Lord proclaimed death as a universal punishment law, under which all were, ceased and created a new form of eternal life, in which sleep would be in constant communion with God.
