Fx Dubois

Born in 1972 in Chatellerault, I was drawn to comics at a very young age and discovered painting in art books about the expressionists Picasso, Chagall, and Modigliani. I worked on the basics of drawing and painting in the studio of the painter Bernard Tillolloy and spent a year at the Beaux Arts in Tours, where I learned with Vivien Isnard the opposite of classical art, the spontaneous and abstract expression of art! "By exhibiting at the Maintenon gallery, always well attended, FX Dubois shows us that his pictorial technique has evolved. His oils with a knife, where we see frozen faces appearing under unraveling threads, have something strange and seductive. Strange indeed because the mystery remains intact until the moment when he initially saw only the abstract. FX, with great artistic rigor and a sense of color harmony, has found his style. We can think that he will continue in this direction, while adding, in his next paintings, a little more of these little pieces of strangeness that he knows so well how to bring out under his palette.
