Floriano Bodini

Floriano Bodini (Gemonio, January 8, 1933 - Milan, July 2, 2005) was an Italian sculptor, engraver and medalist. He is present with numerous works in museums and public and private collections and has created monuments in various national and international contexts.

In 1936 the family moved to Milan where they would return in 1946, after the period of displacement. Here, having finished the art school, Bodini was directed to sculpture by Vitaliano Marchini and attended the courses of Francesco Messina at the Brera Academy.

At a very young age he taught at the Liceo Artistico in Brera and at the Accademia di Carrara, of which he was director until 1987, while from 1991 to 1994 he was president. He left teaching in Carrara to take up the chair of sculpture at the Darmstadt Polytechnic of Architecture from 1987 until 1998.
