Finding faces in the marks I put on paper has been a source of endless satisfaction for me. Like a nervous habit, I would draw pictures as obsessively and regularly as people check their phones. I’d do it on busses, in social situations and when I was alone. The most interesting thing anyone has ever said about these drawings came from a 7 years old. After much contemplation, she turned to me and said "It looks like you just scribbled on her face". She was alluding to the idea that if took the pen marks off the paper, there would be a real face beneath it. Kids are profound!

Biografia
Fleur Elise Noble é uma premiada artista australiana contemporânea. Trabalha com os meios de desenho, pintura, escultura, marionetes, figurino, cenografia, animação, cinema, mapeamento de projeção, performance e dança para criar obras de arte, filmes de animação e performances visuais.
Fleur tem formação em artes visuais, teatro físico e artes comunitárias. Ela estudou com bolsas integrais em escolas de arte em Adelaide (Adelaide Central School of Art) e Nova York (New York Studio School). Em 2008 foi estagiária de direção no Zen Zen Zo Physical Theatre, depois do qual passou a atuar em várias produções de dança / teatro físico. Fleur recebeu muitas bolsas e prêmios por seu trabalho.
O trabalho mais conhecido de Fleur até hoje é sua performance de teatro visual '2-Dimensional Life of Her', um trabalho feito de desenho, animação, marionetes, projeção e papel, que explorou ideias em torno do ato de criação. 2-D Life of Her foi convidado para se apresentar em mais de 40 locais e festivais ao redor do mundo, incluindo; O festival London Mime 2012 no The Barbican, o Festival Under The Radar 2013 no The Public Theatre em Nova York, bem como em Los Angeles, Brasil, Irã, Coréia do Sul e extensivamente em toda a Europa, Austrália e Nova Zelândia. Em 2011, 2D Life of Her foi selecionada para representar a Austrália no Congresso Mundial de Teatro para Jovens na Dinamarca e Suécia e, em 2013, ela foi premiada com o prestigioso Bessie (New York Dance and Theatre Award) pelo Design Visual Excepcional.
ROOMAN é a segunda grande produção de Fleur e, como a primeira, a história e o material físico que ela usa para contá-la foram desenvolvidos e refinados ao longo de cerca de 7 anos. ROOMAN é uma rica tapeçaria de marionetes, projeção, desenho, dança e instalação sonora. Como um holograma de baixa tecnologia ou um livro pop-up de papel high-fi, ROOMAN leva o público a uma jornada dentro de mundos de universos animados à medida que se desenrolam em um gigantesco conjunto de papel tridimensional. ROOMAN estreou no ARTS HOUSE em Melbourne em 2017 antes de fazer uma turnê na Eslovênia, Holanda e Nova Zelândia.
Fleur também trabalhou como líder de oficina e produtora de mídia nos Workshops de Contação de Histórias Digitais da Fundação SharingStories desde 2012 - facilitando projetos de desenho, animação, produção de filmes e projeção com idosos e jovens em comunidades indígenas remotas em toda a Austrália.

Fleur criou milhares de desenhos, bonecos e esculturas no processo de realização desses espetáculos. Durante e entre as turnês, ela continuou a desenhar, pintar e esculpir. Enquanto ela ainda viaja com suas performances, seu foco atual é conectar-se com os jovens e explorar como as práticas criativas podem ter um efeito positivo nos problemas de saúde mental.

Based on interviews with people aged between 8-102, Creation Creation is a documentary/comedy about life’s biggest mysteries.
How did we get here? How did the world begin? Are aliens real?
Two fearless creators and performers will step onto the stage and attempt to unravel the mysteries of the universe improvising with whatever tools they have at their disposal alongside a soundtrack created from 35 hours of recorded interviews and a vivid, highly original soundscape. Blankets become forts, cardboard boxes become battleships and ping pong balls become planets in this hilarious explosion of art, sculpture, physical theatre and puppetry.
A daring and audacious journey to the very edge of the universe and back again. It’s a wild theatrical experiment for the curious among us.
Some of the big questions tackled during this show, raised and then answered by the general public children and adults we interviewed, include; ‘how did the world begin?’, ’is there other life in the universe?’, ‘how are babies made?’, ‘what does dying feel like?’, and ‘what will life on earth be like in 1,000 years?’. These questions and answers are played out by our performers in gentle, moving and fun ways. Viewer discretion is advised, viewer curiosity is recommended.

A note for audiences
As part of developing Creation Creation, over 50 people were asked ‘what big mystery would you like an answer to?’, with answers sourced from both experts and the general public. The performance tackles some big questions, including ‘how did the world begin?’, ‘is there other life in the universe?’, ‘how are babies made?’, ‘what does dying feel like?’, and ‘what will life on earth be like in 1000 years?’. Each question and answer is played out by the performers in a gentle, moving and fun way. Viewer discretion is advised, viewer curiosity is recommended.

The Pocket Sanctuary: Arts, Health and Food Farm is a magical wonderland tucked away in Forest Range, a beautiful pocket of the Adelaide Hills (in South Australia). It is a place for creativity and rejuvenation. When we first visited this 27 acre property, we fell in love. With the luscious valley of tree ferns and weeping willows. The abundant orchard and veggie garden (bright green in the middle of summer). The majestic spring fed lake surrounded by native bush and adorned in lotus flowers. And the mountain of yellow leaves and spectacular views. So many pockets of splendour! It's a place for dreaming, and for creation. We will be holding many events, workshops, artists residencies and gatherings over the coming years. We look forward to sharing this space with you ❤️
Who are The People in The Pocket? Incase you were wondering... We are a family of Professional 2 year olds. Daniel Fels climbs trees for a living (he's an arborist). He is also a geologist, but he's more of a monkey than a miner. He loves his work and also loves to dance. Daniel met Fleur on a dance floor. Fleur Elise Noble is a drawer, painter, sculptor, puppet-maker, performer, animator and maker of visual theatre performances. She also facilitates creative workshops for young people. The third person in The Pocket, is Mahlia- Fleur and Daniel's most treasured creation. She too loves dancing, climbing trees and painting pictures.

ROOMAN is a new visual-performance by Fleur Elise Noble, a rich tapestry of puppetry, projection, drawing, dance and sound installation. Like a low-tech hologram, or a high-fi paper pop-up book, ROOMAN takes the audience on a journey inside worlds of animated universes as they unfold upon a giant 3-dimensional paper set.
ROOMAN is a story of romance, fantasy and the pursuit of happiness. A story that we can all, in some way, relate to. A girl meets a kangaroo man in her dreams and falls in love. Obsessed by his reality, and the idea of becoming a part of it, she takes desperate measures to spend more time with him. Her obsession leads her into the darkest depths of the human psyche.
