Las obras del artista Wolf Thiele son en parte estrictamente geométricas y minimalistas, en parte poéticas y complejas. Se pueden clasificar como pintura constructiva geométrica abstracta o como arte minimalista. Thiele experimenta con el efecto de colores, formas, líneas y superficies entre sí, con la subjetividad de la percepción óptica.
Sus obras suelen crearse a partir de formas geométricas simples. Ama la austeridad formal y la economía de la geometría y la mantiene con Paul Klee: "La naturaleza puede permitirse el lujo de derrochar, el artista debe... ser frugal". El análisis, la reducción y la variación son principios importantes de su trabajo, por lo que los medios digitales son herramientas apropiadas para él para desarrollar bocetos, fotografías y esculturas.
