Ken Lerner es un fotógrafo apasionado, nacido en una familia de fotógrafos de renombre en 1947. Comenzó a tomar fotografías a los 6 años, utilizando una cámara que le regaló su padre. Pero no le interesaba simplemente reproducir momentos de la vida real. Su visión era más subjetiva y buscaba proyectar una realidad interna de ese momento.
Al comienzo de su carrera, creó casi exclusivamente imágenes con múltiples exposiciones. Esto le dio una estructura compleja a las imágenes y representó una visión subjetiva del mundo. En la década de 2010, después de trabajar en ventas de productos financieros, volvió a la fotografía produciendo solo imágenes de una sola exposición. Aunque estructuralmente eran menos complejos, aún representaban una visión subjetiva del mundo, siendo casi totalmente abstractos. Ken trabaja extensamente con superficies reflectantes como agua, vidrio y metal.
Amante de la belleza de la naturaleza, Ken Lerner pinta y fotografía muchos paisajes terrestres y marinos. Está interesado en presentar diferentes posibilidades de representar la "naturaleza" y, a menudo, produce muchas variaciones de una imagen con diferentes colores, sombras, contrastes y saturaciones.
