Giuseppa Matraxia nasce a San Giovanni Gemini (Agrigento) il primo Maggio 1955, si trasferice a Palermo all’età di tredici anni dove vive tutt’ora.
Cresciuta a stretto contatto con la natura ne trasferisce l’interesse negli anni successivi della sua vita, quando si affaccia verso il mondo della arte. Fin dalla giovane età si appassiona alla pittura dal vero, in particolare ai paesaggisti
dell’ottocento francesi, italiani e inglesi.
L’amore per la pittura è grande tanto quanto quello per la sua terra, e le sue tele ne sono la testimonianza, ove vi sono rappresentati tanti degli scorci più interessanti dell’isola, cercando sempre di corglierne i momenti più suggestivi.
Le sue opere figurano in varie collezioni private in Italia e all’estero e presso la Galleria d'Arte Moderna Sciortino di Monreale.
