Serge Broeders is a contemporary Belgian painter. Broeders has been painting for thirty years and has specialized in a variety of ancient and modern techniques, including lacquering Chinese furniture, applying gold leaf and patinas, airbrushing, ancient techniques of Flemish and Italian painters, creating replicas of masterworks, applying lime to Venetian frescoes and stucco, creating replicas of Tiepolo frescoes, and creating monumental paintings in trompe l'oeil, acrylic, with hyper realistic and abstract techniques.
Serge Broeders was born in 1958, in Belgium, where he graduated from the Institute of Construction, Decorative and Industrial Arts. He exhibited his works nationally, as well as internationally in France, Italy, Spain, and he won numerous awards, including the gold medal at the International Classical Art Competition in Brussels, vermeil medal from the European Academy of Arts, silver medal at the Grand Prix de Wallonie, silver medal at the Grand Prix International de France (Nice), winner of the Dieudonné Jacobs painting competition.
