Sangie practices meditation before starting a work. Mindfulness allows him to take a step back on his life, his experiences. To extract from it the impulse that she transcribes in painting. She approaches painting with a great openness, working on calligraphy, the stretching of the material and some mixed techniques. She writes texts or chooses quotes to give keys to whoever looks at her paintings. She chose here to talk about the origin of the world, the origin of our sensations, feelings, our emotions. "Sometimes the emotion that can break your heart is the very one that heals it."

Sangie discovered dancing and painting at a very young age. She has played various instruments and has always loved to draw. Why? "Because without knowing it, it allowed me to live in full consciousness, far from the world of adults who seemed to have a lot of problems, and to put myself in a kind of bubble where I didn't have to worry about the other person's gaze."

At the age of 7, she remembers watching her grandfather paint figurative landscapes in oil on his outdoor easel. He often complained about others, how they had judged his work, his art. He couldn't stand criticism and that had cut off any desire to exhibit.

"I could feel his frustration and his pain. "But I also felt how good it was for him to paint, and I wanted to try and imitate him, to borrow his brushes."

After spending 20 years in Paris, Sangie moved to Australia and what she discovered there in terms of light, nature and painting technique will impact her future choices. Thus she chose to establish her artistic studio in Aix-en-Provence. There she harnesses this famous light in her abstract paintings. After drawing and oil, she works with acrylic, charcoal and ink. She approaches painting with great openness and experimentation of gesture and movement, working on calligraphy and the vibratory stretching of material.

She leans on her modern dancer’s sensations and she applies colored layers to highlight emotions and embark us on different levels of reality. Over the years, she tirelessly studies the way in which abstraction and the energies conveyed naturally take precedence over reality, in order to transcend the limits of the physical world.

Neuroscience has made it possible to understand that the brain is a muscle that can be strengthened in its positive part to see life from a more beautiful angle and thus live better. Sangie uses her art in this approach to spread messages of optimism and caring.

Sangie extensively exhibited in France and overseas and is now represented in London, Los Angeles and Lisbon. Her paintings are included in private collections all over the world and were presented in Miami Art Basel in December 2018 by Aqua Art Miami.

"Passionate about dance and in search of ephemeral permanence, I explore through gesture and painting the movement of the body in space. My means of expression revolve around painting, ink on large format paper, collage and calligraphy.

The body writes a message, the result in my work is a danced calligraphy that represents what speech cannot express. There is no more gravity; the sky and the earth share the canvas like Yin & Yang, for a balance and a lightness of being.

According to Leonardo da Vinci "movement is the principle of all life.»

I have focused my artistic research to suggest plastically, dynamism, speed, energy, gravity... I try to capture this moment in action in space, in a perfect balance of shapes and colours.

My canvases are prepared with vibrations of acrylic materials and colours that reflect the emotions felt during the choreography, the lightness of the gestural trace in ink and paint is superimposed like a suspended moment captured in space".   Sangie
