Adrian Uncrut, born on January 28, 1962 in Arad, Romania, is a multidisciplinary artist who lives and works in Austria. He trained at the Academy of Fine Arts "Nicolae Grigorescu" in Bucharest, where he studied sculpture under renowned professors such as Paul Vasilescu, Vasile Gorduz and Mircea Spătaru, graduating in 1993. After a visit to Austria in the summer of 1991, he decided to settle there permanently, continuing his artistic career.

Adrian Uncrut's work is characterized by a diversity of techniques and mediums, ranging from watercolor and charcoal on paper, to collage and adhesive tape on fabric, to sculpture on wood, bronze, resin and stone. His style, deeply influenced by the Dada, Surrealist and Naïve art movements, reflects a relentless quest to explore dreamlike and absurd worlds, while maintaining a certain poetic naivety.

His works, often marked by a complex interplay between order and chaos, question the notions of reality and imagination. As a founding member of the group "Puntea", composed of Romanian artists living in Vienna, Uncrut has contributed greatly to the Viennese art scene by participating in numerous group exhibitions and art symposia, notably at the Frewein-Kazakbaev Gallery, the Kandinsky Gallery, and the Romanian Cultural Institute in Vienna.

Among his solo exhibitions, the 2020 one entitled "Vernissage Adrian Uncruț: Skulptur Und Zeichnung" in Vienna was particularly noted. His works, present in private collections and public spaces in Austria, Romania, the United States and Germany, testify to his deep commitment to the exploration of forms and volumes.

With professional experience as a stonemason for the company "Carpati" and in various restoration projects in Austria, Adrian Uncrut continues to draw on these technical skills to inform his art, merging influences and materials to create works that are both intriguing and provocative.
