Specializing in pet portraits from photos, she will do a wonderful painting of your pet. Dogs, cats, horses or birds make a loving memory of your pet in paintins.
Karen is basically a self-taught artist. She has many art courses and workshops under her brush and she studies extensively on her own. She is an avid gardener and loves nature. She counts it a privilege to capture in a small way what God has so wondrously created. Her interest in art has been since early childhood with a desire to draw and create ever since she can remember. Doing crafts are fun but she finds her fulfillment in painting. Her realistic art shows her desire to capture the out of doors she so richly
loves. Landscapes, flowers, animals and birds are her favorite subjects. She paints in a variety of mediums: graphite, colored pencil, pen and ink with her favorites being pastels, watercolors and acrylics. She has taught Kindergarten in the mornings and Art in the afternoons while living in Knoxville and since moving to the Chattanooga area 15 years ago, she taught Art at the Central Baptist School for the Arts for ten years with several of her art students persuing a career in the arts. She also enjoys the roll of wife, mother of two and now grandmother to four wonderful children. They also inspire her to get her brushes wet! Karen has done many commissions for friends and family and finds it rewarding to do something for that special place someone may have in their home. Now as a full-time care giver for her mother, she finds more time to enjoy the need to paint. She is quick to give all the honor and glory to the Lord for the ability to do what she does. She considers it a precious gift from Him and what she does with it is her gift back to Him.
