Natalia Rozenbaum(Rosenbaum) was born in the Soviet Union in 1960 and has been living in Israel since 2022.
From 1991 to 1997 she studied in the workshop of Viktor Korobeinikov in Lenngrad.
Her artistic influences are diverse, ranging from the old masters—Velasquez, Rembrandt, Crespi.—to Matisse, Picasso, and the Impressionists. Natalia has explored the challenges of painting and composition, seeking her own unique voice and language within the art world. She engages in dialogue with many artists and continues to do so.
Creating figurative, naive, and abstract works, she employs various mediums. Graphic techniques allow for quick reflection, instant immersion. Ceramic sculpture provides a means to shape new understandings and stabilize them. Textiles infuse her work with elements of everyday life. For Natalia, painting has evolved into a universal tool, a symphony of voices. It has begun to incorporate other mediums, extending into ceramics and textiles, leading to the emergence of collages and appliqués, narratives, short stories, videos, and photographs.
The choice of theme dictates the choice of medium. These themes arise from the flow of life: family, war as a disease, illness as a journey, and the formation of the Soul. Since 2008, Natalia has integrated spiritual practices into her art, revealing the stories hidden within our genes and bodies, and exploring the essence of the collective unconscious.
These stories are confusing and non-obvious. They help us understand what we're all made of. And sometimes even what we can do about it. The artist shows the variety of human states - from fear, hatred, frustration, etc., to Love
