Matthew G. Beall’s paintings are reductive. Reductive paintings with weight, body, depth and richness.
The artist, who has been working in Germany since 2000, paints on canvas and paper. Matthew G. Beall was born and raised in California, along the coast between Los Angeles and San Francisco. He is a self-taught artist, poring over his grandfather’s art books and drawing for hours as a child, and studying and deconstructing paintings, sculpture drawings and photographs in the museums and contemporary galleries of Europe and America today.
