MEMBER OF THE INSTITUTE OF FIGURATIVE ARTS
Christian Maltais is a figurative painter with around twenty years of experience. His youthful paintings date from the end of the 70s. Aged 39, Christian Maltais has always been drawing and painting in oils since the age of 16. He worked as a graphic designer for more than 10 years, which gave him intensive practice in drawing and illustration with all traditional media including the computer. In addition to prolonged personal research with several mediums, he has participated in numerous training and development workshops. He also worked with various professional painters in workshops or during symposia.
For the creation of his paintings, the painter combines the pictorial technique of the ancients with a more modern technique in order to give his landscapes an aspect of spontaneity and freshness which is reflected in a well-marked pictorial writing, as well as a quality finish. which is characterized by an old-fashioned appearance.
