The artist, who paints with both his left and right hands, then alternates brushstrokes and work with a spatula: the brush for calm and soft elements and the spatula for energy and dynamism.

The German painter Peter Nottrott admits three essential sources for his creation: “the immense energy of nature, the music, by which I let myself be carried away when I paint and finally the unlimited diversity of colors and shapes that are at my disposal” . “I like to walk in nature and have a predilection for certain landscapes: the sea whipped by the winds, romantic lakes or forests that open onto enchanted universes. When I am in my studio and I listen to music that inspires me, I immediately feel the need to create symphonies of color and energy. For most of my paintings I first have a rather vague idea, which is refined during the work. The initial idea includes the combination of colors and the overall construction of the composition. And then I start”.

The artist, who paints with both his left and right hands, then alternates brushstrokes and work with a spatula: the brush for calm and soft elements and the spatula for energy and dynamism. “Finally, my paintings live thanks to the contrast of these two elements of style”. Born in 1962 in Northern Germany, Peter Nottrott still lives there and quickly established himself as a professional artist, from the age of 26.
