ADVICE N ° 6 - Protecting your images.

On the internet, there is no magic wand when it comes to protecting your images. Let's say it without tongue in cheek, it is not possible to 100% protect an image on the internet. This does not mean that you should be afraid either. Indeed the images appear in low definition on Artmajeur, a possible usurper could not use your images for commercial purposes. If you still have doubts, Artmajeur still offers different tools for the protection of your images.

This protection is organized around two axes: The secure archiving of the original images and the protection of the images themselves.

1. Secure archiving of original images.

Secure archiving is offered to Platinum subscribers . The images you uploaded in high definition are stored in an ultra-secure environment and you can retrieve and download them at any time. If for example you have lost your images saved on your computer, you can always recover them on Artmajeur. (be careful! If you have deleted the image on Artmajeur, you will not be able to recover it). This is why it is not recommended to remove the works sold from your gallery. You just have to report that they are sold (they will then appear marked with a red dot). They continue to bring you money thanks to the printing system set up by Artmajeur.

2. The security of your images on the internet

All the images presented on Artmajeur are in low definition, even when you load them in high definition. Therefore, even if someone uses one of your images, they will not be able to use it for commercial purposes because the image quality is insufficient.

If you still have concerns, Artmajeur offers two solutions to protect you:

- the watermark

With just one click, a secure watermark is automatically embedded on your images. The person who wants to "steal" one of your images will not be able to remove this watermark! This is option is available for everyone. However, we do not recommend its use, because the watermark, despite its discretion is unsightly and it decreases the value of your images and therefore does not promote sales .

If you want to activate this option, nothing could be simpler:

- Secure and copyright archiving

It is the ideal solution to prove the anteriority of your creations. All your images are archived and protected with a time stamp certified by a bailiff. At your request, the judicial officer can attest to the date of filing of your images. It is a reliable and secure way to assert your copyright and protect your creations. The certified time stamp is recognized in the 167 countries that have signed the Berne Convention for the Protection of Literary and Artistic Works. The cost is affordable because it takes 15 eur per year for 100 images. The price is decreasing according to the quantity of images deposited.
