The MSCHF group made a Louis Vuitton handbag visible with a microscope

Designers say that the bright green accessory is a criticism of the fashion business.

A "smaller than a grain of salt" Louis Vuitton handbag is the latest tongue-in-cheek installation by the Brooklyn art group MSCHF. They say that the unofficial green fluorescent collaboration with the French luxury house was made to criticize the fashion business. "As a once-useful object like a handbag gets smaller and smaller, it loses its function and becomes more and more of a brand sign." MSCHF is also behind the Art Basel Miami Beach cash machine that went global and showed the amount of money in a user's bank account to the public, as well as the cartoony big red boots that were popular with fashion people all over the world last winter.

The independent French fashion brand Jacquemus seems to be in the collective's sights. With their tiny clothes for people who won't leave the house with more than lip gloss and keys, Jacquemus rose to the top of the fashion world and our Instagram feeds. MSCHF's 657 x 222 x 700 micrometer scathing critique can be seen at the Matignon Avenue gallery of Perrotin Gallery before it goes up for sale at Pharrell Williams' auction house, Joopiter. A price estimate hasn't been given yet.
