LorAnge is an artist (painter/musician/writer)he has been painting for twenty five years and his original creations fall between categories such as surrealism and symbolism. He is often labeled as a fantasy artist and that he is! "My paintings create me !" says LorAnge with conviction. Marcel Lorange was born to create and that is what he spent his life doing in one form or another LorAnge has been an artist for as long as he can remember. Music, poetry, painting are what makes him what he is in deed. Marcel Lorange has been on the path for a long time already and he's not done yet. His original paintings make up a special "temoignage" to today's world yes but more specifically to his own. LorAnges Painted Diary is a testament to the doors that he crossed along the way it's a world revealed thru fantasy and symbols. Indeed my studio has no walls that I feel it only has doors many open doors leading to the freedom that comes from true love. I realized I was blessed when AnnMarie walked thru one of those doors and right into my heart.

I paint as I love to play music. In other words I improvise and let the inspiration coming from within as well as from my environment guide me. My creation process follows the same rules as life and that is unpredictable so filled with surprises some good others bad but always pretty much not as expected.
I paint the colourful reality that pulls me thru the many doors surrounding me and I do it with conviction as I can see any other way.

In this less than perfect world, my paintings are meant to be doorways to a better place. I feel that my duty as an artist is to offer the public an oasis where anything can happen but choose to lean on the wonderfull aspects of imagination so creatures like fairies and elves often appear in my painted universe. I use acrylic and oils on canvas in a pretty traditional manner but I very seldom start with a sketch, preferring to improvise as the paintings develops. Some of my work takes years to finish while some are done in a few days, it's always a matter of inspiration and mood for me. I am a figurative artist but I refuse to be labelled a realist, I start from reality and always end up far from it. Music his my main inspiration, images just seem to appear out of nowhere when I listen to music just as I always hear music coming out of a painting I like.
