Après des études aux Beaux Arts de Toulon avec une spécialisation en sérigraphie puis en photographie d'art (1er prix de Photographie d'art / Beaux Arts de Toulon 1973/1974), Photographe indépendant de longue date, dans le domaine industriel et publicitaire, maintenant retiré du milieu professionnel, Christian prend enfin le temps pour ses recherches personnelles axées sur la couleur et la matière, sans négliger le Noir et Blanc qui sont les fondamentaux de son approche visuelle.
L’ambiance qui découle de ses images est toujours guidée par la rigueur de la composition, et souvent proche de la peinture.
Dans ce contexte, sa démarche se rapproche parfois de l'abstraction, avec une double lecture, laissant au spectateur une grande latitude d’interprétation.
Sa vision de l'image finale doit être pour lui un lien entre le sujet et le vécu de chacun, c'est-à-dire un trait d'union de lieux communs de la mémoire collective et leur représentation.
Pour résumer, Christian Lefèvre s'applique à transformer l'ordinaire en extraordinaire, où chaque sujet traité "joue" sa propre petite musique.
