About the author
Hugo Morata, self-taught poet and painter, will offer during this exhibition, his abstract canvases easily interpreted as birds or fish and others more dense and full, corresponding to these states of souls to his translated seasons in color.
He created his first two paintings one day when he lacked poetic inspiration, and discovered painting with a knife. Then it goes to India for 4 months, there it is brewed in a culture where the colors are bright, numerous and swirl between spices and pigments. He notes the possible chromatic complementarities that appeal to him in his travel notebook and mentally develops compositions, which he puts on canvas upon his return to France at the end of 2017. This is how he has continued to work for more than 5 years every week.
His two collections of canvases are unique, thanks in particular to his instrument, the knife, which he uses very instinctively and fleetingly in spreading the paint, which contrasts with the time of reflection as for the choice of colors and the preparation of the background of his canvases.
