Tatiana Chemiakina Taner– Creating Warmth in the World Through Art
Born in 1988 in Chukotka, Russia – at the edge of the world and warmth, where two continents meet. It is a land of harsh winds and endless horizons, where the sun hangs low but reaches deep into the soul, and the cold clings to the skin, leaving a lasting impression of its strength. Winter reigns for most of the year, and in this silent, frozen world, one learns not only to see the beauty of nature but also to build resilience, to find warmth within.
For more than seven years, she has lived and worked in Alanya, Turkey. Moving to another country was not just a change of place but a search for a new home—a space where warmth, sunlight, and creative freedom could be found. Living within multiple cultures has taught her to embrace contrasts, listen to herself, and find beauty in every moment. This search is reflected in her art—fluid forms, layered textures, and the interplay of light and shadow.
Her practice combines digital painting, acrylic, watercolor, collage, and experimental techniques. She incorporates textile elements, structural pastes, and natural materials—pieces of the sea, plants, and sand—to create tactile, living compositions.
Her art is a way to speak without words, to share emotions and thoughts with people even if languages, cultures, or great distances separate them. Through her work, she explores the balance between chaos and calm, the pursuit of joy and harmony amid life’s challenges—loneliness, stress, motherhood, global crises. But even deeper, it is her own journey toward self-awareness, inner balance, and understanding her place in the world. For her, art is not just a form of expression but a way to find stability within, to create a space of peace and safety even amidst external turmoil. It is a continuous dialogue with herself and others: How do you keep the light inside when everything around you is changing? How do you stay true to yourself while embracing multiple roles—artist, wife, mother, a woman living in multiple cultures?
Each of her paintings is a personal message, a way of saying: You are not alone; the world is still full of light and warmth. Within them are whispers of quiet moments, the shimmer of sunlight on water, the touch of wind against the skin, the breath of nature. They are reminders that even in the most difficult times, there is still space for beauty, peace, and hope. Her works are like a silent conversation, where each viewer can find their own meaning—support, inspiration, or simply the comforting feeling that somewhere, on the other side of the world, someone understands them without words.
