About the author
Created in 2012, the Monkey Bird Crew (MBC) collective is made up of two artists, Louis and Edouard, who met on the benches of the Ecole d'Art Visuel Créasud in Bordeaux: Témor, graphist, passionate about design and Blow , graphic designer, illustration lover.
The two visual artists depict two animal totems, in metaphysical architectures, between anthropic and ethological principles. “We want to offer a literary reading of the image!” Stencil makers recognized for their graphic finesse, they work on matrices made entirely by hand. Drawing inspiration from treatises on geometry, mechanics, cosmology and even astronomy, they present their work in multiple mediums and recovery supports.
“Monkey Bird is the whole of an alchemy of our two thoughts, a link between spirit and matter. It's still a joke like at the beginning, with the technique refined today." This is how Blow, is embodied by the discreet night owl, adept at poetry and artistic philosophies. And Témor, at Like the monkey, he is a resourceful perfectionist who combines humor and wit.
Not without a certain obsession, they reintroduced an animal presence on city walls. These animals, similar to those present in fables, mischievously remind us of our human concerns, halfway between the desire for elevation, material desires, and freedom, from which man cannot free himself.
Now feeding the urban landscape, they are investing their mural fables in Paris, where they live, Lille, Bordeaux in particular, but also Amsterdam, New Delhi and several cities in Mexico.
