Née à Pleubian en bord de mer dans les côtes d’Armor, Francoise a été toute son enfance inspirée par les penchants artistiques de sa mère mais sans réelle volonté de créer. Ce n’est que bien plus tard après avoir obtenu un poste de professeur en chimie organique à l’université qu’elle a ressenti ce besoin de s’exprimer par la peinture.
Alors guidée par un professeur d’art, ses premières œuvres étaient plutôt abstraites et très colorées. Avec les années, son style géométrique et coloré allait se confirmer, inspiré quotidiennement par les molécules en trois dimensions qui relèvent elles mêmes déjà d’une forme d’art lorsqu’elles prennent vie avec leur structures et couleurs.
À travers les couleurs, telles une expérimentation chimique qui va conduire à l’œuvre, Francoise cherche d’abord à attirer et interpeller. Puis vient le côté scientifique avec la géométrie pour guide qui prend une place primordiale dans ses tableaux tout en restant dans une forme d’abstraction, laissant son public en recherche de signification.
« Le regard est attiré par un choix harmonieux de couleurs et structures autant en peinture qu’en chimie, on parle aussi de l’alchimie induite par un tableau. » nous confie t-elle lorsqu’on lui demande la vision derrière ses œuvres utilisant un savant mélange de teintes et de médiums.
