About the author
Marie Andrée Hembert is a contemporary artist based in France. She spent eight years studying under a distinguished Polish painter and also took modules at the School of Fine Arts in Douai (59) with a renowned Russian painter.
Her artistic journey began with dry pastel, and she has since evolved to work with oil, acrylic, collage, and mixed techniques. While her paintings from 2006 to 2009 had a different style, she shifted to a more contemporary approach starting in 2010. Hembert enjoys experimenting with color, often mixing unconventional elements and embracing a colorist approach.
She deliberately avoids adhering to a rigid artistic mold, finding joy in creating works across a wide range of styles that may challenge traditional norms. Hembert believes that color, unlike subject, form, or line, does not engage with the intellect but instead holds a unique power over sensitivity, embodying the magical essence of art.
