About the author
I am Sergey Lisitsyn, a painter from Kiev (Ukraine), and Kiev is my native city. My mother Vera Alexeevna was a painter-decorator working with porcelain, and possibly was the first who opened my mind for the art. As a kid, I visited an art studio at Samokish’ Art College in 1965-68. Then, in 1969, my family moved to Belaya Tzerkov’ city (Kiev region). Since 1975, I moved back to Kiev and started my professional career. Once upon a time I was travelling, visited Germany, Poland, Italy (Venice) looking for some inspirations.
My basic style is realism, sometimes in combination with symbolism and free color composition. Emotionally, my creativity is driven by the beauty and esthetics of the ambient world. My message to other people is simple, however not new: the beauty will save the world, and we should live in peace, in our minds, souls and activity. My paintings are located not only in Ukraine (permanent collections in Kiev' History Museum, Ukrainian House, Schevchenko' Museum) but also in Poland, Canada (Toronto) and USA (Denver).
