Gwenn Audic est d'abord née par la danse. Elle ne s'est rapprochée de la peinture que tardivement et pas-à-pas. Sa pratique commence en 2005 en Espagne, puis se poursuit en France à partir de 2011 où elle intègre le collectif artistique rennais de l'Elaboratoire. Elle travaille depuis 2015 dans son propre atelier.
Depuis, elle transcrit le mouvement de sa danse intérieure à travers une peinture dont la substance fondamentale est la couleur. C'est par ce travail de la couleur qu'émergent des formes et non par le dessin. En effet, peindre et dessiner sont deux approches bien distinctes du monde : peindre, c'est danser sur la toile avec le mouvement intérieur imprévisible.
L'artiste ne pré-médite rien, elle est traversée par le mystère de la vie qu'elle essaie de retranscrire. Sa peinture est faite de jets et d'explosions. Elle parle autant de la nature que de la femme, de la violence que de l'apaisement. Elle s'inspire profondément de l'expressionnisme allemand ainsi que du symbolisme.
