Attracted very early, as a teenager, by Asian arts, I began studying art at the Grande Chaumière
(Paris), where I obtained a diploma in Visual Arts and Architecture of Interiors.
After a disparate professional career, but which gave me a lot of mastery in tools and materials, I decided on an artistic direction through a passion: Lacquer, and began to exhibit:< br />1996, gold medal at Cavaillon
1997, 3rd Art et Rencontre prize, Cavaillon
2000, exhibition at the Charité (Salon d'Automne), Carpentras
2006, prize of excellence at the Salon d'Automne, Carpentras
2007, Grand Prix Castill'Art, painting (Castillon du Gard)
2009, various exhibitions, medalist of Arts, Sciences and Letters
2010, special mention Jury of Rognac (bdr), for 2 lacquer totems
2011, Mixed Media prize, in Rognac
Why lacquer? I love its sensual aspect, its slowness, the almost carnal work of its material(s), its creative possibilities, which make it a unique art. It allows me great freedom, despite the rigor of its technique, to express in a more intense way, questions, impressions, feelings, in a very sensual approach to nature to which I feel so close. It is also an inseparable part of each of my creations and my ambition will be, with its help, to succeed in (re-)reconciling paint and lacquer.
My current approach turns towards the creation of "totems", of which I have discovered, over months and years of study, a gigantic universe, where the very rich symbolism and very linked to Nature, with such a charged affect, has
provoked my enthusiasm.
I remain still very attached to painting and drawing, which I have started practicing again recently,
because there seems to me to be a kind of complementarity - which I miss -, and.....it's a lot faster!!!....
My master painters:
Miro (my guide), Prassinos (thanks to whom I discovered abstract art as a teenager), Klee, Kandinsky,
Soulage, Sugaï, Zao Wu Ki, De La Tour, Ingres, Vinci............
