Gisele Bes

This work consists in an image of a stones, that reminds a human shape. The style is gotten from the idea of the inukshuk, of the Inuits from North of Canada. Drawing in sepia and sanguinea on paper. The balance and weight is the main focus on this work. Participated in two exhibitions in Canada, being at first showed at Mississauga Central Library, in september the 3th, 2002.

This work was part of a show in Milton, Canada. Drawing in matches colors. Inspired by the history of the first nations in North America, and some views of the Royal Ontario Museum.

Gisele bes was born in Brazil, a southern city called Curitiba. Growing in this cultural city, Gisele was in touch with the artists.
Bachelor of art in Brazil at " Ecole des Beaux Arts", 1985, after University she'd tried everything on art. Did works with preservation at Mate Museum, Prints, wood, linoleum, at Solar do Barao. Participating in several art exhibitions,she got first prize in Jacarezinho, and Paranagua.
Living in canada she has developed a new expression in her art via her exposure to this newly adopted country.

The talent developed through life experiences. As a visionary, she was inspired by nature and mythology. The artist has captured the soul and spirit of both.
" the light, the sound and the rhythms, are the interpretations of the world around us. The waves of the sea, the stars in the sky, the Sun, the Moon, wind and the Earth are always related to cycles. Stones gives those meaning to her.
The women are the figures who inspire her inner conviction about humanity. In a new modernist concept, Gisele opens the intimacy performed by inners archetypes living in the subconscious.

Awarded first prize in the juried exhibition in Sao Paulo and Paranagua, Brazil.
