Gérard Jeanjean defines himself as a “contemplographer”, a term he coined to express his unique approach to photography. Born from a previous career in the graphics industry, where he assimilated rigor and aesthetic codes, he found in photography a true passion and an insatiable quest for beauty and meaning.
Based in Générec, France, Gérard Jeanjean devotes himself entirely to capturing subtle moments of nature and “ordinary” scenes of life. His sharp and contemplative gaze focuses on moments that are often overlooked, revealing an unexpected depth and sensory richness in each image.
After integrating the rules and precision of graphic arts into his career, Gérard Jeanjean chose to reinvent himself through photography. His passion for lifelong learning leads him to follow courses, participate in exhibitions and explore online resources, thus constantly refining his art and techniques.
Since 2013, he has been a member of Negpos, a collective of photographers who share his love for visual exploration and the quest for photography imbued with meaning and authenticity.
