(Henri Cartier-Bresson)
Franz Hümpfner is a well-known photographer. He always tries to convey the reality hidden behind the visible world through his photographs. For him, a camera is a tool for his artistic work, similar to how a painter uses brushes and paint to create his works.
He employs both analog and digital techniques. "A photograph requires the feel of paper," he says, adding that "the fleeting representation on the screen cannot convey the sensual quality of a photograph." He also creates Zen or Wabisabi photography, which can express themes such as the beauty, transience, and imperfection of everything that exists particularly well due to its simplicity. He also discussed this type of photography theoretically in his book "Photoartfolio 1 - Wabi Sabi Photography."
According to Franz Hümpfner, "A limited edition print has the same artistic quality as an open edition photograph. A photograph with artificial limitations has the quality of a stock that is speculating on rising value." This is the reason why he offer his photography in an open edition.

Pictures in our days
"Art opens up new levels of consciousness and enriches our lives", says Franz Hümpfner. "In our days, we live in a world that we experience primarily visually. As a result of the invention of photography and film at the end of the 19th century, we are bombarded daily with thousands of images, often alternating only a few seconds. We try to take possession of the world with photo images, to fix the time and to stop. Unfortunately, we are left confused by the flood with the many image stimuli. However, for the essence of life, we only penetrate in silence and concentration. Art creates this space of concentration. It is a concentrated energy that reverts to the viewer. It provides us with new experiences and insights, can give orientation, but it can also unsettle you. She always makes our life richer. In the field of photography, the camera industry tries to convince the amateur every day again that the image sharpness and the megapixel number of the camera are a prerequisite for good photography. However, this only creates technical fetishists who are no longer interested in content and design. The craze in the photography of our time suggests and deceives us that with the help of photography we can grasp and interpret the world in full sharpness."

Participation in my artistic work
At present I am artistically occupied with the relationship of photography to painting and with the combination of the two means of expression. In parallel, I am working up my extensive archive to publish the best works.
Reviews and comments
