Dominique Azambre

Dominique Azambre, photographer, has developed a unique creative approach resulting from his activity in advertising photography and his specialization in culinary shots. Noticing a reduction in the notion of creation in this area, she decided to expand her creative space by inviting fanciful and greedy characters whom she calls "mutants".

Faithful to her identity as a photographer and her attachment to the culinary field, which was a real school for her, Dominique Azambre broadened her creative scope by creating the costumes for her characters herself. Using a variety of tools from sewing machines to spray paint, she creates costumes with striking color contrasts, particularly inspired by Johannes Itten's rationalization of the color wheel.

The misused accessories and varied materials used in his creations allow his characters to come to life and reveal their personality through their costumes. She thus creates portraits of creatures “hidden” behind glasses, where the costumes become doors opening onto their identity. Among them, a green character named "Pa'stèque" stands out for his gaze visible through a magnifying glass, observing the other "aliens". This creation questions the notion of self-portrait and observation.
