D A R A P A P R O C K is a multi media conceptual artist. She was educated primarily in dance and was coined, “The Midwest’s Youngest Dance Impresario” by the Daily Cardinal in 1991 in the midst of producing and creating over 100 dance and theater works at the University of Wisconsin, Madison. Her ideas often cross boarders of a single art form and run into themes that include paintings, ceramics, poetry, prose, performance art and installations. Her work embraces broad observations, conversations and guttural sensations of contemporary culture and a broad spectrum of human experiences. Though her ideas are complex, her work is often humorous, human and employs wit. Her art works, which includes paint, ceramics and textiles, are in private collections in the United States, Korea, Sweden, Great Britain, Columbia, France and Poland and have been featured in theme-based exhibitions including the first “Day Without Art” at the Museum of Contemporary Arts in Baltimore, “Art and Ego Festival” at the Public Theater in NYC and she was a centerfold in the National Geographic 1999 issue of Global Cultures. Her dances and dance films have been shown at Dance Camera Istanbul, performed in Great Britain, Spain and the USA. She moved to Austin TX in 2005 from Los Angeles where she spent the previous 12 years working behind the scenes in Hollywood and raised 2 sons. She writes articles, short stories and prose. In Austin she is a Trauma Sensitive Yoga Therapist and works in Addiction Counseling as well as is the area representative for Global Water Dances.
