Biography
Boyan Yanev is a contemporary Bulgarian artist. Yanev graduated from the Art Academy in Sofia, Bulgaria, under the guidance of academician Rumen Skorchev, specializing in illustration. The roots of his deep attraction to illustration trace back to a fervent love for books, a passion that led him to illustrate stories from a very young age. His earliest encounters with historical movies allowed him to glean details about attire from specific eras and diverse social personas. This fascination evolved into a lifelong commitment to delving into human history, a subject he continues to read and study to this day. As he delved deeper into his explorations, he gradually unearthed esoteric insights that elucidated the intricate relationship between humanity and the divine. He skillfully captured the ambiance, settings, and characters from stories and novels spanning various epochs, including the works of Franz Kafka, Mark Twain, Joseph Conrad, Robert Burns, and Robert Louis Stevenson, among others.
In his role as an illustrator, Boyan Yanev extends his expertise beyond graphics to incorporate a rich array of colors. He employs tempera, acrylic, oil paints, and other mediums to achieve his creative vision. Interestingly, even his easel oil paintings, which are crafted with the aim of scenic representation, subtly reflect his illustration background. This translates into a narrative quality that persists within his themes. This distinctive approach is perhaps his means of expressing his individuality and carving out a unique artistic niche. While his preferences may not come as a surprise, given his admiration for Renaissance and Baroque artists, he extends respect to all artists whom he holds in high regard and cherishes.

The Historical Park organizes an exhibition-competition of historical painting on the theme "the Cyrillic script". This competition allows all Bulgarian and foreign artists to participate by presenting their works dealing with this subject. The historical period that will relate to this theme, extends from the date of creation of this alphabet until the end of the 15th century. The will of the organizers is to present the theme of the creation and development of the Cyrillic alphabet around the world.

Traditional annual exhibition - a special selection of Valery Pushtarov from the works of Bulgarian authors.The Cavallet Gallery was created in 1998 by the poet Elka Nyagolova and the artist-gallery Valery Postharov.Cavalet is located on the ground floor of a stylish one hundred year old house, in the oldest and romantic part of Varna, just a step away from the entrance of the sea garden, whose name comes from italia word "cavaletto".Object of attention are contemporary artistic processes and trends, designed in the traditions of Bulgarian and world art. The authors of the gallery are the most prominent names among the Bulgarian artists living in the country and abroad.

Saint Luke - Annual Exhibition Of The Association Of The Varna Artists - 2018
Authors of different generations - well-known artists, recognizable names and artists without their debut, open an exhibition on the day of their saint and patron Saint Lukas at The City Art Gallery - Varna.
The Assosiation of the Varna artists was founded on 16 June 1943 as a professional organization with 27 members.
The Christian tradition considered the Holy Apostle and Evangelist Luke the first icon-painter to have painted two icons - to the Virgin Mary with the Child and to the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul. In this way, it is the beginning of the ecclesiastical iconography, which asserts art as a spiritual and aesthetic essence.
