Renee Amitai

Reneee Amitai graduated from the "Ecole Des Beaux Arts De Paris", France, and gained professional experience in design and architecture in Paris, France, Tel Aviv, Israel, San Antonio Texas, and Los Angeles CA, USA.

Reneee Amitai's art works have been exhibited in California, Hawaii, Nevada and Texas in the U.S.A, and internatlonally in France, Israel, England, Korea, and Japan. In Los Angeles, her works are exposed in several galleries and at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, rental gallery. Reneee Amitai has also taught drawing, painting, printmaking, and architecture in Texas and in California.

Reneee Amitai has lived in Los Angeles since 1987, working in her studio in Venice, California. Reneee has organized numerous exhibitions in L.A as Chalr person for Exhibitions of the LA printmaking society. She was also responsible for the Lankershim Art Center Gallery, in north Hollywood CA.

My artistic interest has evolved through the years from printmaking to paintings, back and forth, making my living through my art, in design and architecture. My images went from symbolism to abstract metaphysic landscapes to structural shapes. My paintings are my spiritual odyssey, a search for mystical meanings, translated by light breaking through a slit, a scuttle, a kind of opening, a door, a window, an eye.

The window associates the mind and the soul. The Hebrews called the eyes the windows of the soul. The window transcends the limits of its subject, the transparency and opacity, the light and the dark, the chaos and harmony, the sufferlng of loss is balanced by a promise of hope and Reneewal... multifaceted shapes and colors represent the wonder of creatlon. They translate the spiritual forces of nature, their power and fragility, the beginning of life. The transcendence of life, its flow of joy and pain, its spirituality.
