This painting depicts the relationship of submission in orthodox marriage. The woman is small and sitting close to her husband, whose powerful hand holds her at the shoulder. Their respective postures symbolize a submissive role for women and an exclusive male stoicism. This simple but expressive painting is composed with simple shapes and lines, in warm pinkey hues, which create an idyllic figure of their dreamy lives together.

Painting shows couple sitting together with the background of evening landscape in pinkeye warm colors. We can see powerful man and tiny woman in blue colours. It depicts relationships of submission in orthodox marriage. Simple but expressive shapes and lines, big men, small women and the sense of power, dominance and submission plays a dominant role in the social structure of our culture.
