Biography
I set out on a journey whose seeming digressions were always part of my art; my paintings.
I began by studying Cinema and Theater at Tel Aviv University (1978-79).I then went to NYC where he attended classes in Commercial Art at New York Tec. and Photography and Art at the School of Visual Arts (1981-83).
In 1984 I returned to Israel.
Since then, I have taken part in various enterprises in the areas of Communications and Public Relations and for a year, in 1986, took intensive courses in Religion and Theology. During all this time I worked on my art, which steadily appeared in exhibitions in various cities - Tel Aviv, London, NYC .
my interests have included Etching and Lithography, Behavioral Science and the TV medium. At present, however, I am focusing exclusively on my painting and my family.

The paintings of Eitan Amir appear to be taken from enchanted Eastern legends. They
draw their inspiration from Byzantine mosaics and icons, Persian miniatures,arabesques and carpet decorations, illustrated manuscripts, works of embroidery andthe art of silversmith. Diving into the depths of the universal subconscious sea where symbols and legends reign.
