I'm holding an apple in my hand, and it's not just red or yellow. It is *between*. Between ripeness and rot, between a juicy bite and a mild decay. Between Eden and Newton, between life and death.

An apple is the first fruit that we draw in childhood, and the last still life that we paint when the brush is already shaking. It falls from a branch, like a body from a cross, like a planet from orbit. It can be ruddy, like a child's cheeks, or dull, like an old man's skin.

Red is passion, sin, and blood. Yellow — light, fading, slow transition to decay. And between them is *orange*? No. Between them is time itself.

I want to write an apple that does not yet know whether it will become a pie or a worm. Which fluctuates between "already" and "yet". Between when it was torn down and when it hits the ground.

Maybe the competition is just an excuse to ask yourself the question: what color is life when it is no longer green, but not yet brown?

The series “Textures of Being” explores the complex and multi-layered aspects of human existence through the prism of visual imagery. Each work in the series is a unique combination of textures, colors, and forms that reflect various states and experiences that humans go through.

Idea of the Series:

The main idea behind the series is to show that human being is not a static state but rather a dynamic process full of contradictions and changes. Destruction and restoration, chaos and order, light and darkness—all these elements intertwine in every person’s life, creating a unique texture of their existence.

Visual Elements:





Textures: Various textures ranging from smooth and structured to rough and destroyed symbolize the diversity of life experiences and conditions.



Colors: Use of different colors, from bright and saturated to dull and muted, reflects emotional and psychological states.



Forms: Geometric and organic shapes create a sense of order and chaos, emphasizing the duality of being.

Destruction and Restoration: Works in the series explore themes of destruction and restoration, showing how new order can emerge from chaos.

The series in front of us is a symphony
of works created in the ancient technique of encaustic, where wax paints spreading like liquid
gold come to life under the master's brush. Each painting is
a separate chord in the melody of color and form, drawing us into the depth of art and
human emotions.



Canvases, each of which has its own unique history. Paintings
depicting a female profile against a background of emerald shades, as if inviting us
to feel the harmony of nature and the inner world of the artist. The woman looks thoughtfully into the distance,
opens a window to her inner world, full of thoughts and silence. Paintings with
surging waves symbolize the eternal power of nature, as if enveloping us
with the energy of movement and life.



Portraits of women with closed eyes, immersed in a state of contemplation and
inner silence, the embodiment of love and deep feelings. Works replete
with abstract forms remind us of the harmony of opposites, how
different elements can exist together, complementing each other. Paintings with
soft iridescences of green and brown shades give a feeling of peace and
tranquility, like a quiet river.



Each picture, as if alive, breathes emotions and feelings. Encaustic,
abstraction allows the artist to create incredibly warm and bright images full
of depth and expression. Wax paints, like a play of light and shadow, give
the canvases a special texture and volume, turning them into real masterpieces. These
works are able to awaken the viewer's own thoughts and experiences,
inviting him to travel through the vast expanses of fantasy and feelings.
