Dong Ming Guang

1970 born in Qingdao Shandong Province,China
1993. Bachelor Degree from in an art college of Shandong carve the profession,
2000-2001. Research class of the material carve in Central Academy of Fine Arts
Member of China Artist Association,
Member of China Sculpture Institute,
The National City sculpture design qualifications certificate holds.
Present lecturer in the Carve profession of Shandong Artistic College.

Brilliant Sunshine Cannot Illuminate
——about my works
Give birth to, come down I hope world have first “god ", it will come to bless us, guide us, comfort us, give us courage and strength. We know we are not any advanced animal, we are the people! It is can since in not only we from can by noble work，,make us unable to develop world of desire, the desire will make us turn into low-grade animals of the advanced society too.

Then, where is the spirit? The god has not appeared, the spirit has not appeared either, and what should we believe?
Today, our high building exceeds the church and tower space, our room is spacious comfort, the sunshine outside is bright and dazzling, but see it is the person who loses " god " everywhere, people are spreading messages each other: There is no god, the god is out! Let's enjoy, make merry in time heartily, happy?! Occupy heartily; strive for heartily, all is oneself! Happy?!
However, it feels indifference and loneliness that can't be made by oneself why our heart is always unexpected!
Why we will be greedy, be hollow too?!
Believe in people can pursue desire happy showy, winner those and loser the same evilness all only!
Perhaps, people's essence has evil side, if we believe evilness, our soul must be flurried, frightened. How do we tell our child not to be flurried in our hearts, not frightened? It is not candy and kindred that it is wanted that they stretch out hands, what they want are ideal and dream. What we gave is the desire!
There must be devils to have no “god ", is growing knowing the alienation and deformity! The loss of faith is the greatest tragedy of this age.
I respect " the god ", though I do not know what it is, no matter it exists, we are willing to become its sub member of a nationality, In to move and inspire, down we feel that has purified oneself, lofty oneself, make oneself calm " god", no longer flurried. We can love life, enjoy every quarter of life by living in harmony. We would like to burn off one's own too. Just like countless oil lamps, illuminate each other. We know we are small and weak, we know too oneself is great.

A friend sees my work said to me: "I worry about very your spirit, will not you be too pessimistic?!”
I hope to do my works, I will be flurried and frightened when doing to them, I know too that there is a whiff of strength in the tragedy, make us review and calm down firmly.



《阳光灿烂不能普照心灵》展前言

——关于我的作品

生下来我就希望世界有一个“神”，它会来保佑我们，指引我们，安慰我们、给我们勇气和力量。我们知道我们不是什么高级的动物，我们是人！我们不仅可以自由的还可以高贵的活着，欲望使我们发展了世界，欲望也会使我们变成高级社会的低级动物。

那么，神在哪里？神没有出现，鬼也没有出现，我们要相信什么？

今天，我们的高楼高过教堂和塔宇，我们的房间也宽敞舒适，外面的阳光亮的刺眼，却看到到处是遗失“神”的人，人们相互传着口信：没有什么神，神不在了！尽情地享受、及时地行乐吧，快乐吧？！尽情地占有吧，尽情地争取吧，一切为自己！幸福吧？！

可是，为什么我们的内心总会突然的感到无法自制的冷漠和孤独！
为什么我们会贪婪，也会空虚？！
没有信仰人们只会追求欲望的快乐和浮华，那些成功者和失败者都是一样的邪恶！
也许，人的本质有邪恶的一面，如果我们相信邪恶，我们心灵一定是慌张的、恐惧的。
我们如何告诉我们的孩子我们的心里并不慌张，并不恐惧？他们伸出手要的不是糖果和亲情，他们要的是理想和梦想。我们给的却是欲望！
没有了“神”就一定有魔鬼，就会异化和畸形地生长着！
信仰的遗失就是我们这个时代的最大悲剧。

我崇敬“神”，尽管我不知道它是什么，不管它存不存在，我们甘愿成为它的子民，在“神”的感召下我们觉得净化了自己，崇高了自己，使自己平静，不再慌张。我们可以和睦相处，热爱生活，享受生活的每一刻。我们也愿意燃尽自己。就像无数盏油灯，相互照亮。我们知道自己弱小，我们也知道自己伟大。


一个朋友看到我的作品对我说：“我很为你的精神担心，你不会太悲观吧？！”

我只是想做我的作品，在做他们的时候我会慌张和恐惧，我也知道悲剧中有一股力量，使我们反思及坚定地平静下来
