The Ecumene was an ancient Greek term for the known, inhabited world or civilization.
I depicted our Earth as a young sleeping woman. Half of the face is green, so it's inhabited other half is unexplored.
What dreams does she see at the dawn of human civilization?
Images that no longer exist, but remained in rock paintings: wild animals, hunters, shamans, mysterious writings and signs

For me, painting is akin to magic and an artist  sort of  a mediator between the subtle world and people, capable  to create  the illusion of reality from emptiness. Like a magician  he accepts information in the form of fragments of dreams and fantasies deciphers it, and then materializes into the object of contemplation. I have ancestry of Siberian shamans, ancient chiefs, blacksmiths and jewellers. So creativity deep in my genes. The process of  birth of new painting  like a spiritual immersion into canvas or a meditation to me. I never know in advance what I will portray, because I do not make sketches. Instead of it  I create layer by layers a chaos by colours, then gaze into the depths of the canvas, trying to understand what would those created patterns like to tell me. Sometimes when I am lucky, images occur in hours, but sometimes it takes a few days to manifest them and the picture gets a heavy texture. I like to pull out images with their story from  abyss of abstraction.  Very often they are  from Greek mythology. I do not know why it happens. Maybe because as any artist unconsciously  I would like to be a part of  history  and creating a piece of art on a classic subject means  being on the same team with the Great Masters of the past and it is a great honor for me.
