Dane's art is original and unique. Each piece is planned, explored, built, broken down, and rebuilt. The large format is required to get the essence of the depth and scope of the work. The medium is wood, canvas, acrylic, and sealer - this is not the art however. The blending of colors and the areas that are scraped down to the canvas or several previous layers of paint, or peaks of heavily pigmented paint is only the artists' language. Emotion and state of being is transcribed into the canvas with the intention of giving the medium a breath of it's own. But you will not feel that life. The emotion and wanderings of the mind that you are experiencing right now are unique to you and this moment. Each individual that experienced this art will have a wholly different interpretation to this art than you had. That is the core essence of Dane's art - to elicit deep emotions and visualizations that are individually unique to everyone.
