Katarzyna Dietrych, geboren 1965, ist eine zeitgenössische polnische Künstlerin, die im südlichen Teil Polens, in der Nähe der Karpaten, lebt. Ihre Faszination für Kunst begann im Alter von 15 Jahren, wobei ihr besonderes Interesse an Textilkunst ihren kreativen Weg prägte.
Dietrych ging ihrer Leidenschaft zunächst an der Hochschule für Bildende Künste in Bielsko-Biała (Polen) nach, wo sie 1985 ein Diplom in Textilkunstdesign erhielt. Sie setzte ihr Studium an der Wł. Strzemiński-Kunstakademie in Łódź fort und schloss es 1990 unter der Leitung von Professor Antoni Starczewski mit einem Master of Fine Arts (MFA) ab. Ihre künstlerische Ausbildung setzte sie mit einem Aufbaustudium an der Akademie der Bildenden Künste in Posen fort, das sie 2005 abschloss.
Dietrych ist für ihren minimalistischen Ansatz und ihr Engagement für die Prinzipien des „Slow Life“ bekannt und schafft abstrakte Kunst sowohl in der Malerei als auch in der Textilkunst. Sie konzentriert sich darauf, ihre Arbeit auf die wesentlichsten Elemente zu reduzieren und versucht, das Unaussprechliche durch Einfachheit auszudrücken.
