Carlos Vieira ist ein Fotograf, der schon immer von der Bearbeitung, den Spezialeffekten und der Kunst, real zu machen, was nicht ist, angezogen wurde. Dank digitaler Tools orientierte er seine Arbeit schnell in Richtung Fotomontage und Individualisierung von Kunstwerken.
Als sich ständig weiterentwickelnder Künstler versäumt er es nie, verschiedene Techniken zu entdecken und zu erforschen, die er entwickelt, um sie mit Präzision zu beherrschen, ohne seine extreme Sensibilität zu verlieren. Feder, Tusche, Collage, Acrylfarbe und Öl sind Disziplinen, die er beherrscht, ohne je eine aufzugeben.
Mit Acryl schafft er heute Werke, die oft gut gerahmt sind, mit einer Komposition, die auf einfachen, aber präzisen geometrischen Formen und Flächen aus Volltonfarbe basiert. Wir können dann eine mehr oder weniger ausgeprägte grafische Vereinfachung erkennen, die manchmal zur Abstraktion übergeht. Vorhänge, Farben, Lichter und Kompositionen ziehen die Blicke auf sich und wecken Emotionen.
Carlos Vieira Mendes wurde 1954 in Zentralangola geboren, ist Absolvent der Luftwaffe, Architekt und Designer im Bauingenieurwesen, Amateurkünstler und Autodidakt. Er lebt seit mehr als 20 Jahren in Lausanne (Schweiz).
