I was born in the city of Tyumen, in Siberia. From an early age, I loved to draw and my parents not only approved of my passion for creativity but also encouraged it. My mother often drew girls and boys in books and on sheets of paper for me to try and redraw. Unfortunately, my skill at copying left much to be desired, and I always felt like I lacked that cool skill.
But at one point, my passion for drawing began to develop in a different direction. My mother proudly told everyone how I drew a flea for a school play, even though I didn't even know what it looked like, and there was no internet back then.
Soon after that, I went to an art school where I faced new challenges. Among my classmates were children with better technique, who tried harder than I did, or at least, that's what I thought. But it turned out they were just more careful, and I was more emotional and expressive.
I drove my teachers to tears, ran away from them in the corridors, not wanting to conform to their standards. In a regular school, I was not such a rebellious child; there was nothing to prove there. But in an art school, I always wanted to go beyond the limits and continued to learn year after year.
And finally, the moment that changed everything arrived. I went to Bulgaria for a drawing competition, where I realized that Russia's standards were not Europe's standards. It was there that I realized that I could go beyond the limits and show my uniqueness and creative approach. Would you like to hear more?
