Dagoberto Silva

Dagoberto Silva was born in Vila Nova de Gaia (Portugal) in 1952, where he currently lives and pursues the professional activity of Plastic Artist in his studio. He studied Arts at the Escola Soares dos Reis in Porto and has been carrying out expositions there since 1976. The scholarship that he was granted by the European Commission in Venice was decisive in defining his artistic vocabulary.
In the painting of Dagoberto, an impressionist vision is present, with the fleeting capture of a given moment. He is, above all, an "outdoor" painter, with art pieces which show interest in capturing a given reality. Technically, the art pieces of Dagoberto are characterized by the juxtaposing of free brushstrokes, being both nervous and spontaneous but with a strong impressionist and expressionist character. Dagoberto uses, above all, a palette of warm and contrasting colors which gives brightness and luminosity to his art pieces, which are loaded with a great sense of sensibility and technique.
