An investigation of around 200 photographs of city landscapes, where Rome is the reference playground, but there are also other Italian cities such as Naples and Bari. The focus of the project is in subverting the -ordinary and gray- concrete vision of the daily life in the urban context, through the magnetic force of color. A new dimension is returned to buildings, streets and metropolitan panoramas, in other words, Color Against Concrete gives us the possibility of traveling well beyond the established threshold.
In this path the analogue photographic process plays a fundamental role. By relying on pre-exposed or pre-sensitized 35mm film, such as Lomochrome Purple, Dubble Film Stereo and Revolog, traditional colors are altered, pushed to a completely unexpected visual and sensorial level.
An itinerary that is structured both on the immediacy of the shot and on the slow process of its development, scanning and digital editing of images. In this phase the material added value of the film merges with the ethereal one of the imagination. Through the relocation of the elements of the image and the tonal exaltation, the work of photographic re-elaboration is the last stage of the journey. To reflect, distort and dream of a new vision of the metropolitan context.

Cristiana Bezerra de Menezes Signorelli é uma fotógrafa fine art especializada em surrealismo. Ela vem de uma origem mista sul-americana-europeia, com raízes metade italianas e metade brasileiras, e nasceu em Quito, Equador, em 1986. Como artista reconhecida internacionalmente, ela viaja constantemente pelo mundo e atualmente reside em Roma, Itália.
Sua jornada começou com uma graduação em fotografia, seguida por uma carreira em publicidade, cinema e fotografia de moda. Ela teve inúmeras publicações em revistas e ensinou fotografia, ao mesmo tempo que gerenciava projetos relacionados à fotografia. A sua experiência levou-a a dedicar-se integralmente à fotografia artística, onde explora novas perspectivas surrealistas.
Influenciada por artistas como Maya Deren, Marc Chagall, Michal Pudelka, Claude Chaun e André Breton, utiliza os arquétipos da beleza e da insolência narrativa visual para investigar um meio complexo paralelo à realidade circundante.
Os seus temas artísticos envolvem a desconstrução dos pilares do sonho. Isto inclui a ausência de contornos espaço-temporais, a natureza repetitiva do tema, a descontextualização cromática dos espaços urbanos e a exploração da dualidade humana.
Ela usa fotografia analógica e digital para incorporar sua análise visual. Em alguns de seus projetos, esses meios podem estar presentes na mesma fotografia através de um longo e complexo processo de revelação do filme, digitalização e edição digital de imagens. O valor do filme funde-se com o etéreo da imaginação, que o artista pretende preservar com um processo de montagem “manual”. Cada componente de suas fotografias é criado, modificado e inserido seguindo apenas um processo criativo autopensado.
Atualmente, trabalha em diversas séries fotográficas que totalizam quase 300 imagens. Estas imagens são o resultado de uma longa pesquisa baseada nos temas da arquitetura e da fotografia de seres humanos.
