Chantal Myrtil

Handling colors and the art of painting with passion, I assert myself and express myself as a self-taught painter. Originally from Martinique, ‘my island muse’, I was encouraged by those close to me to reconnect with painting, which I have loved since I was very young. So I picked up my brushes again about ten years ago. Painting is this vital need to exteriorize and share my emotions, to project my feelings of life. In 2011, I created ‘Art comes to your home’. The concept ? I exhibit my paintings at the home of a volunteer host for an evening combining sharing, art, and cocktails. Working on canvases of various sizes, the large format remains my preferred size. Looking for inspiration, I pushed the limits of my canvas to that of walls and textiles. Playing on several paintings, I depict my wide range of emotions according to the inspiration of the moment.
