Biography
I am a self taught artist working in coloured pencils and occasionally mixed media. I was born in the UK but emigrated with my husband in 1968 to the USA. Divorcing after 16 years of marriage I moved to Australia where my sister and parents were then living. I ran my own stained glass and fused glass business while there and took some evening courses in art, mostly acrylic and some watercolour. After a holiday back to the USA in 2012 my husband and I reconnected and remarried in 2013 and I moved back to the USA where I took up drawing again in my retirement. After my husband retired in 2015 we were living on the east coast of the USA, and then we moved back to California where we had started out in 1968. After a holiday to the UK in 2017 we decided it was time to return to our roots and we moved back home in 2019. I had by then been working a lot in coloured pencil rather than just graphite and realised this medium was for me! I am in love with detail and I am inspired to draw from photos my husband takes and love to draw just about any subject! Art is so subjective, what you may like, I might not, and vice versa, and that is why I am firmly of the belief that anyone can draw, paint, sculpt or make art in any form they choose. All you need to do is take the first step and give it a go!

Quarr Abbey art show
