If you check the dictionary for spontaneous word you will find definitions like, "going from a momentary impulse without conscious reflection", or "does not look artificial or manipulated: natural" or "often surprising to surrounding environment. " Look my works from this point of view, makes this newly created more than the meaning expression of my work. The enthusiasm with which I create my works, then this simple expression, spontaneous realism, conveys a defining emotion. And this is exactly the time when my art begins. My inspirations are the everyday events of daily life, the hidden apparently, although omnipresent.
"The reason is not the deciding factor for me, but my motivation behind it." I try to capture in my paintings, things that I touch, I see, I remember, whatever the reason for this can be. A small digital camera is my constant companion. Often I press the shutter indiscriminately without even looking through the window or just a particular point. These snapshots will serve me as a memory aid, as a kind of inspiration, not as a model. During the act of painting, I am reminded of a particular situation. What is it exactly that stirred my senses? An intriguing sound? A certain smell? The basic artistic skills of Carlos Amoedo is rooted in his longstanding creative challenge with the art of realism. This intimate knowledge combined with his technical and artistic talent allows you to react spontaneously to the unforeseen. Only those who know him can narrow it down to the essence. His creative process is not a portrait painting or other, but the formation of colors. For Carlos is like a walk through memory lane, he modifies his memories, intensifies them and organizes them again until they turn into something concrete. This could be rays of light, a group of people or a certain inspiring color in a specific location. Everything else only serves as a framework that helps to accentuate the main theme. Another important element in Carlos paintings is time. Hands of Carlos stir up so quickly on the screen which looks almost like she puts under pressure. An imaginary dance begins in the thought competes with the actual act of painting. It is a game where the idea is only a blow to the front of the stroke. "Each painting is an impulsive challenge that begins with a first idea and ends with the final stroke of the brush, and every stroke decide about victory or defeat." What attracts Carlos is representing the unforeseen. He calls it also a dialogue with the energies and colors where pure chance always has the right to respond as well. "If I had known beforehand how the work would be, it would be boring for me, can not be predicted"
