About Artist Bui Huu Hung

Bui Huu Hung is a one of the famous artist in lacquer traditional painting .He was born in Hanoi in 1957.He graduated from Hanoi Fine arts University and is a member of Viet nam Fine Art Association. Since 1975 he studied lacquer painting with lacquer artists at traditional lacquer workshops.

Coming from a family of skilled antique reproducers, Bui Huu Hung masters
the most complicated technique of traditional lacquerers ordinarily applied
in temples and now transformed into the technique of lacquer painting.
Color and color shading in his paintings seem to be inspired by the resonance of color in the religious architecture of ancient Viet Nam.

His paintings are a unique world with simple figure block and covered with dark colors. Sometimes , the object isn’t at just center of work , they’re seem like floating .That’s exited people a deeply magic about life , death , creator and destruction.

His road is profound and long, hardly recognizable through a few works. It is the
expression of reflections about the underground veins of inner feelings and the national culture.

His main theme consist of ;landscape , portrait ,daily life...
Name of some works ; ancient village , queen ,double harvest ,summer holiday , morning...He .
His paintings are displayed in many exhibitions in Vietnam and overseas.
