Brigitte Gagné is a contemporary Canadian painter. Working primarily on canvas and paper, she likes to play with line, shape and texture trying to capture the fleeting moment when the interior comes into tune with the represented. For her, the creative process matters as much, if not more, than the completion. Quest and exploration are at the heart of his work. Rubbing, tearing and sticking allow her to appropriate her workspace. She seeks to get closer to herself and to the other. The essential becomes the agreement between the intimate and the work, the lived and the perceived. The gesture, ample or unfinished, repetitive or punctual, contained or expansive, actively participates in this silent dialogue between me and the other.
